This month, we watched purpose show up in the smallest moments: deep breaths before a big pitch, a teammate’s quiet encouragement, and the kind of confidence that grows when girls know they don’t have to carry everything alone. Inside Intuit’s NYC Headquarters, our UJIMA Business Program students stepped into the room with ideas, courage, and community on their side. During a pitch competition judged and the girls practiced, revised, and tried again because that’s what collective work and responsibility looks like. 

One bright moment came from Jahnelise, a student entrepreneur building a bakery dream one recipe at a time. Watching Jahnelise share their vision reminded us why Mental Health Awareness Month matters at IGA: wellness isn’t just rest—it’s belonging. It’s being seen. It’s learning how to speak up, ask for help, and still believe in what’s possible.

And when our girls headed back to their dorms, they did so wrapped in care thanks to Lush Cosmetics and our  Box of Hope + Love dorm essentials giveaway. Because of you, 500+ students were served through UJIMA this month, supported by 100 volunteer hours and 20 workshop sessions—creating calmer minds, stronger voices, and a community that keeps showing up.
