Volunteer for the UJIMA Business Pitch Competition: The International Girls Academy Needs 500 Volunteers!

Are you passionate about youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, or giving back to your community? The International Girls Academy (IGA) is actively seeking 500 dedicated volunteers for our Fall and Spring UJIMA Business Pitch Competition. This is your chance to make a real impact, inspire young women, and support the next generation of business leaders.

What is the UJIMA Business Pitch Competition?

Every fall and spring, IGA’s UJIMA Business Plan Program gives girls the opportunity to create, develop, and pitch their own business ideas. This life-changing program has helped students:

  • Launch real businesses

  • Create generational access for their families

  • Fund their college education through their entrepreneurial ventures

Volunteer Roles Available

Business Mentor

  • Work virtually with 1–2 students

  • Listen to their business ideas and help them refine their projects

  • Time commitment: One hour virtually every other week

Business Judge

  • Attend the final competition

  • Critique student pitches and help select the first-place winner

Business Audience

  • Support students by attending the pitch competition virtually or in person

Why Volunteer with IGA?

Volunteering with the International Girls Academy is more than just giving your time—it’s about changing lives. Our volunteers have seen firsthand how their support helps young women gain confidence, business skills, and real-world experience. As one IGA student shared:

“Through practicing and doing our pitch competitions with The International Girls Academy, I was able to feel confident to speak in front of my peers. I really enjoyed IGA and grew so much as a leader.”
